Plastic modular conveyor belts are commonly used in conveyor applications that require bends and curves. They are manufactured in short segments and are available in a range of standard widths that can be connected together using hinges and rods. This enables the belting to operate smoothly around bends whilst maintaining a flat top surface to support the product being conveyed. Plastic modular conveyor belts are available in a range of designs including open ‘flush grid’ and solid ‘flat top’ and can be supplied in various plastic types (including food approved grades) to suit your application. Flights, hold-down devices and plastic sprockets are also available if required.
There are three main types of belt Sideflexing, Straight Running, Straight running with open up area. Each can be fitted with plastic or stainless steel pins. Plastic conveyors are manufactured from low friction polyethylene, whilst the modular belt can be supplied in a range of plastic materials and colours. Nylon belts are available for high temperature (max 196oC) applications.
Polyurethane conveyor belts are manufactured using thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) sheet. Conveyor belts are manufactured using one of two grades, Translucent or Blue, both of which are suitable for food applications. These can be made into bespoke size endless polyurethane conveyor belts
Applications: Conveyor belts in the food, drink and pharmaceutical sectors. Commonly used for raw, cooked and frozen foodstuffs.
Polyurethane conveyor belts – Key Features
- Operating Temperature Range: -30°C up to +60°C.
- Excellent wear resistance and tear strength.
- Good resistance to grease, oils, water, cleaning agents and other liquids.
- Can be manufactured into endless lengths.
PTFE mesh conveyor belting is manufactured from a Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) coated glass mesh. It is commonly used in high temperature applications where a good air flow is required though the belt. The PTFE coating provides excellent release properties which make it popular for a wide range of product transfer and drying applications. PTFE mesh conveyor belting can be manufactured into endless conveyor belts with sealed edges to match your specific operating requirements.
Applications: Some applications include food transfer, packaging machines, shrink wrap, drying lines

- Suitable for high temperature applications.
- Good air flow qualities.
- Excellent release properties.
Blue PTFE coated glass mesh is manufactured with a completely sealed surface and is commonly used in high temperature applications where even air distribution is required. Suitable for contact with food, the excellent wash down qualities. The versatility of this product make it a popular material choice for endless conveyor belts with sealed edges to be used in high humidity product transfer and drying environments. PTFE coated glass mesh provides low coefficient of friction, excellent release properties, as well as resistance to chemical corrosion, moisture and mildew.
Applications: food transfer and in high humidity environment, smoking of products on oven racks
