At Wrightfield, we have more than 25 years of experience in the food manufacturing and processing industry. We design and manufacture a range of conveyance solutions, including those that incorporate Activated Roller Belt conveyor technology – a system that we discuss further in the following post.

An Activated Roller Belt Conveyor (ARBC) is a conveyor system that utilizes small, powered rollers built into the belt to help guide and control the movement of items on the conveyor. This allows for more precise and efficient movement of items, particularly for sorting, merging, and aligning items. ARBCs are commonly used in manufacturing and logistics environments.

Activated Roller Belt Conveyor

The Activated Roller Belt Conveyor, a title often abbreviated to ARB Conveyor, is a technologically advanced system that is designed by Intralox with the intention of increasing throughput, reducing footprint and offering gentle product handling – all while optimising efficiency.

Reduced Footprint and Simplified Controls

An Active Roller Belt equipped conveyor can carry out multiple functions, including sorting, merging and switching. The conveyance solutions can be integrated with existing layouts to provide the most efficient distance between two points, dramatically improving system layouts, both in terms of footprint and complexity.

Despite the technologically advanced nature of the belts, ARB were designed with the user in mind. The systems feature simplified controls, a factor that helps to ensure that they provide an exemplary user experience.

A Range of Solutions

Intralox manufactures a range of Activated Roller Belt equipped conveyors, including:

90 Degree Transfers: these systems help to address the issues associated with traditional right angle conveyors by providing precise and unerring package orientation and positioning of packages.

Aligners: these systems align products of all sizes and shapes by driving the traffic to one side, uniformly squaring all items. The systems can help to reduce footprint by up to 40%.

Switchers: these solutions provide a low maintenance and flexible alternative to traditional slat switches, pusher arms and sliding shoe sorters. ARB equipped switches are able to accommodate both centre and side infeeds.

Activated roller belt (ARB) technology enables the optimisation of conveyance solutions, helping to improve functionality, throughput and reliability, while at the same time reducing footprint and total system costs. ARB technology is used throughout the globe in a diverse range of different industries and sectors. In total, there are more than 7,500 conveyors in function today.

In this post, we take a closer look at the product and discuss how it can benefit a company.
